Why do people who claim to be Christians complain the most about helping the poor?

Don't you mean complain about the government claiming to help the poor when in reality they want to control them and keep them poor ? Most Christians attend Churches that send missionaries all over the world to help the poor. I don't have a problem with helping the poor, I just refuse to do it through failed corrupt government programs. God bless.
